FINALLY!!! We finally finished our home renovation and we’re so thankful for how it turned out! If you’ve been keeping up with our blogs, you know that we just announced that Aaron and I will be moving to California in less than a month! It was seriously so unexpected, but we couldn’t be more excited for this new season ahead of us.
So, obviously, that unexpected twist makes you wonder what we will do with the home that we have been renovating, right? Well, we decided instead of selling it, that we would love to finish the remodel and rent it out. So that put us fast forward motion to get the job done.
We originally started this renovation wanting to do most of it on our own. We removed the popcorn ceilings, demoed our tile and removed some wallpaper. The work we did on our own was mostly demo work, but we also had the sunk-in the living room filled in as well as some walls removed, a support beam installed and some new lights put in.
We initially thought we’d paint and lay down floors on our own but once we knew we were moving, that was no longer an option. Fortunately, we were able to find a really great contractor who helped us finish the job. And they did an AMAZING job!! We are so thankful and happy with the end result.

We are absolutely thrilled with the finished product. The only bummer is that we won’t get to live in it, haha. We are very excited for our renters to enjoy it though, it definitely was a labor of love and we truly love this house. Now it’s on to our next adventure and finding a place to live in Orange County! Whaaaaa?! Stay tuned 😉
